CREEPY AND EERIE GOINGS-ON ON A RAINY AUTUMN DAY 1967

Going completely off-topic but staying within the spirit of the Sixties and Seventies, no self-respecting spacenut like me wasn't at his best without access to the latest copy of Creepy and Eerie magazines. Fortunately my older brothers bought them every month and once discarded by the alpha males, I read them cover to cover soaking up every grisly word and drawing. Like its contemporary, TV21, over here, Warren's Creepy and Eerie were crammed with the most fabulous illustrations and stories by America's very best - with the likes of Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko, Creed Randall and the world-straddling cover artist Frank Frazzetta. Much later as an adult with some spare cash I was luckily able to re-assemble 'my' collection largely from the NEC's Memorabilia fairs in the late 1990's and now have all the issues from the beginning in the mid-60's to the early 1970's, when I basically grew up and stopped reading them. By way of a taster I've blogged a pic of one of Frazzetta's famous and beautiful covers, this one from Issue 11 October 1967. 'Haunting Excitement Illustrated' for sure!
